Stop breaking the promises that you have made to your future self. What is it that you're truly running from? I'm going to hold your hand when I say this, sis. You're not stuck because God forgot about you. You're stuck because your habits don't match your prayers. The Bible says in James chapter 2, verse 17 in the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. I used to be a lazy girl myself. I remember praying, asking God for breakthrough year after year, but my daily routine was built from comfort and not transformation. And I had to wake up. This is your wake-up call. Hey sisters, welcome back. If you are new here, I am Vanessa Elaine. If you are on your faith journey, this channel is perfect for you. If you're into practical tips on how to walk with Christ and grow into the woman he has called you to be, join a family by clicking the subscribe button down below. Now let's get into it. We are talking about the lazy girl in us all. This video is not about shaming, but to serve as a wake-up call filled with love. Like I mentioned before, I've been there, but everything changed when I realized I was delaying everything good God had had for me, which also meant I was not really growing into the woman God has already ordained me to be. I got so fed up with myself that I had no other choice but to lock in. I always wanted more, and I felt that God put that desire on the inside of me. So it made it harder to settle for mediocrity. Believe me when I say breakthrough is not a moment, but it is a lifestyle. In Galatians chapter 6, verse 7 through 9, it says, Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh from the flesh will reap destruction. Whoever sows to please the spirit from the spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Number one, do not give up. And the first step is this identifying the real problem. Most of us are not lazy. We're distracted, overwhelmed, and undisciplined. We are too busy doom scrolling, I've been guilty of this, and not spending enough time with God. That can make anyone sick. Using other things to cope with what is going on on the inside of you only leads to destruction. And that's exactly where the enemy wants us to be. That's his plot against us all. Truly holding yourself accountable and self-reflecting is a game changer. What is it that you're truly running from is a question that I had to ask myself. And avoiding by procrastinating, and what am I really afraid of? We really have to ask, like, what are we really afraid of? Also, sitting with God and asking him to reveal what is at the root of it all. In Proverbs chapter 6, verse 10 through 11, it says, A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come on you like a thief. That quick, and scarcity like an armed man. Not just financial poverty, but purpose poverty. We have to be diligent and steward our own responsibilities well. In Proverbs chapter 6, Solomon uses the analogy of the ants. Ants can lift 10 times their size, communicate with one another, and fulfill their roles with diligence. They have no one watching over them, no one micromanaging them to push them to do what they need to do on a daily, but they get up and do it every single day. We are far more important than the ants. I'm gonna say that. I believe being diligent goes hand in hand with learning new skills. Because if you're constantly consuming things that don't grow you, you're going to stay stuck. And that's why I'm excited to introduce today's sponsor, Skillshare. I'm so intentional now about what I feed my mind daily. I just joined the creative sailboat reset class, which is a five-step method to get back to creating again. It helps me so much with turning my ideas into reality. And that is key to what I do for a living. That's why I've been loving Skillshare. Skillshare is an online learning platform with thousands of classes that help you build discipline, learn new skills, and actually become the person you've been praying to be. Because I realized if I want a different life, I have to learn differently. Instead of scrolling for hours, I started pouring into myself. I love Skillshare because the classes are short and easy to follow. My type of learning. You can learn at your own pace, and it actually helps you stay consistent. If you're serious about breaking out of your lazy girl habits and stepping into your next level, I highly recommend it. And this one is on me. The first 500 people to use my link in the description or scan the QR code will receive one month free trial of Skillshare. Don't sleep on yourself, sis. Join now. And I can't forget about having practical habits in order to get out of your lazy girl era. Start your day off with God. It's going to be a game changer. Before you touch your phone, before you get on the scrolling on the internet, talk to God. In Matthew chapter 6, verse 33, it says, but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. And all these things will be given to you as well. Whatever you're praying for is going to be given to you. We got to be diligent. And creating a non-negotiable list, a daily list. Do not bend on it. Stop breaking the promises that you have made to your future self. And I learned about this 5-4-3-2-1 method. It's from Mel Robbins. And you just count down like a rocket ship. That's what she explained. Five, four, three, two, one. Because in your mind, you have five seconds when you want to procrastinate. You only have five seconds to like eject that from your mind. So that time when you say you want to be consistent in the gym, but you don't feel like going to the gym that day, if you count down five, four, three, two, one and get up on the last number on one, that's going to be a game changer. That's how you're going to stay consistent, breaking out of old habits and keeping the promises that you have set for yourself. In Ecclesiastes chapter 9, verse 10, it says, Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. Your work and efforts truly reveal how much you value God's assignment over your life. We all have purpose. Don't waste time. And another way to stay consistent and really keep the promises that you have made in order for you to get out of your lazy girl era, I want you to try the 10-minute rule. And what exactly that is, instead of telling yourself, I need to finish this whole thing, tell yourself this. Because sometimes you got to start small. I'm only going to do this for 10 minutes. If you can dedicate 10 minutes, it's going to go a long way. That's it. No pressure, no overthinking, just 10 minutes. You owe yourself this, sis. In Zechariah chapter 4, verse 10, it says, Do not despise small beginnings. Just as long as you start, that's all that matters. And another thing is this remove the distractions. Doom scrolling, binge watching Netflix. Even your favorite YouTuber, that's including me, or talking on the phone with mindless chatter, or being busy doing things that don't necessarily add to your life or your future self. In Hebrews chapter 12, verse 1, it says, Let us throw off everything that hinder and the sin that entangles us. Throw it off. It's keeping you bound and has kept you for far too long. It's time to break free. And stop romanticizing the lazy girl era. And romanticizing your lazy girl era looks like this: calling procrastination rest, calling inconsistency protecting your peace, calling distractions. I just need a break. But in reality, you're avoiding the very things that would change your life. In Colossians chapter 3, verse 23 through 24, it says, Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving when you do these things. So being consistent, showing up even when you don't feel like it. It's honoring God. And lastly, you have to shift your identity. Habits don't change long term unless your identity changes first. Let me tell you where most people get it wrong. They're trying to change their habits without changing how they see themselves. And that's never going to produce anything good. So they say things like this I'm just lazy. Um, I just lack discipline. I'm always starting and stopping, never finishing. And then they wonder why nothing actually changes because what you believe about yourself becomes your reality. Let me break it down even more. You will never outperform your identity. If you see yourself as inconsistent, you will continue to produce inconsistent results. But when your identity shifts, your behavior has no choice but to follow. In 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 17, it says, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. That means you are not who you used to be. You are a new creation. Adapt to the new reality, your new identity, which is in Christ, and cling on to what the word and what God has already affirmed, affirmed you to be, who God already affirmed you to be. Cling on to that. Don't believe in the lies of the enemy or the lies of the past. I don't care. You are made a new creation. And you know, I'm gonna give, I'm gonna rack you up with scripture. In Romans chapter 12, verse 2, it also says, be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Because this mind, it needs to be renewed. Let's make it practical. So instead of saying, I'm trying to be disciplined, start saying this. I am a disciplined woman. Speak those things as if they were, okay? I show up even when I don't feel like it. Yeah, you do. I finish what I start. So yeah, you do finish what you start. You have to say it, confess these things, declare it and decree it out of your mouth, and it's going to happen. You have to, you have to renew your mind with what God says and not what the world says, okay? And telling yourself a different story is the beginning of it all. Even when you don't feel, even if you don't fully feel it yet, because you're not lying, okay? This is not you lying, you're aligning yourself with who God is calling you to be. Call out the old self. Some of you are holding on to an old version of yourself that God already delivered you from, but you keep going back to what is familiar. And when it's familiar, it's so comfortable. But you can't grow when you're comfortable. Only when you're uncomfortable, it causes you to go outside of yourself. And that's where God can step in because you're going into new territory, you're becoming the best version of yourself. You haven't been that person yet. You're evolving. You can't step into a new life while agreeing with an old identity. Every time you're about to procrastinate, I want you to ask yourself this What would a disciplined woman do right now? And then do that. Period. Because when your identity changes, your habits change, your standards change, no more settling, and your life changes. So if you're ready to become the best version of yourself, the woman of God that you are already ordained to be, I need you to walk into this season and own it. Your breakthrough is not waiting on God, God is waiting on your obedience. In Deuteronomy chapter 28, verse 1, it says, If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands, I give you today. The Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God. You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. You hear that? Blessed in the city and blessed in the country. God doesn't want to withhold anything good from us. So come out of your lazy girl era today, sis. Cancel it. If this video has resonated with you and gave you a wake up call, the wake up call that you needed, I want you to comment.
